June 2008, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award 2008
Mike Jatania, Chief Executive, has been named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008, South Region.
Winning the category for Consumer Products, Mike was described by the judges as having ‘clear strategic vision’ and ‘great business acumen’.
Kevin Harkin, lead partner of Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur Of The Year awards programme said: “The calibre of this year’s Entrepreneur Of The Year award winners was higher than ever and is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and determination which is inherent to the UK’s business community.
Mike commented: “It is an honour to receive this award and to be able to share in the success of British enterprise. I hope that awards like this will encourage other professionals to build their own business successes, which are so important to today’s economy.”
The South Region Entrepreneur Of The Year award winners were decided by an independent judging panel, which was chaired by Terry Burt of 2e2 Group and also included Chris Harrison of Leaders' Quest, Peter Harris of Hotel Chocolat, Clive Beharrell of Enotria Winecellars and former chairman of Fat Face, Tom Black of Detica, and Jamie Pike formerly of Foseco International Limited.
Mike will now go through to the National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award finals.
