Yardley of London
Yardley London is famous throughout the world as a purveyor of quality fragrances and soaps. The first intimations of the great House of Yardley actually occurred during the reign of King Charles I, when a young man bearing the Yardley name paid the monarch a large and no doubt welcome sum to gain the concession for providing all the soap for the City of London. Sadly, the particulars of this enterprise were lost in the Great Fire of London in 1666. Only one detail remained; lavender was used to perfume the soap. Almost 390 years later, English Lavender is still synonymous with Yardley London and is the brand’s international signature fragrance.
Yardley London has two Royal Warrants and prides itself on its wide range of beautiful, quality floral fragrances and ancillary products. Inspired by England’s diverse and varied flowers, Yardley London specialise in the creation of fragrances that are based around one or two key linear notes, a note that remains constant throughout the fragrance, softened with subtle top, heart and base notes.
This quintessentially English fragrance brand has recently re-launched. All the products reflect a new house design to enhance the image of the brand and each of the five core fragrances – English Lavender, Lily of the Valley, English Rose, Peony and Iris have been brought up to date and two new fragrances were added to the portfolio – April Violets and Orange Blossom.
What's New:
Yardley London also recently launched a collection of eight long-lasting Refreshing Body Sprays. They contain the same fragrances as found in the Eau de toilettes. In response to customer demand, Body Sprays offer an alternative to an anti-perspirant. They provide a light, refreshing, all-over body fragrance, in a convenient handbag size, which can be used liberally throughout the day to keep the body smelling floral and fresh.
New for 2011
Royal English Daisy is Yardley London’s newest fragrance, inspired by Catherine Middleton. It’s an elegant dewy fresh, green floral fragrance, reminiscent of flower filled meadows in the spring sunshine. It opens with a burst of energetic top notes in the form of fresh green leaves and apple, combined with a heart of hyacinth and white rose, enhanced with warm base notes of sandalwood and musk.
For the first time in over six years, Yardley London have introduced a fragrance for Men, Citrus & Wood which is a sophisticated oriental fragrance containing fresh top notes of bergamot, lime, orange and grapefruit, with a spicy sensual heart of black pepper, birchwood and oakmoss enhanced by the warmth of sandalwood, cedarwood, amber and vetiver at its base.
